Structured under Administration, The Information Technology Department (IT) oversees all hardware and software technologies for city employees working throughout multiple locations within the City of DeFuniak Springs.
The IT Department was established in March of 2020 and has grown quickly by two members as of October 2021. The IT Department is progressively moving the City away from Managed Service Providers by providing in-house deployment, support, and troubleshooting of all computer hardware equipment, peripherals, and software. IT also covers all networking and security components, and mobile technology. IT works with web content and public records requests. Direct contact with vendors for procurement, and A/V for meetings and event preparations also fall under IT’s responsibilities.
The IT Department's mission is to provide excellent customer service to support and empower employees of each city department to do their best every day. IT strives to efficiently move and grow the City towards a sound technological future by collaborating experienced skills with creativity along with new ideas, and innovations.
