Structured under Administration, The Information Technology Department (IT) oversees all hardware and software technologies for city employees working throughout multiple locations within the City of DeFuniak Springs.
The IT Department was established in March 2020 and has quickly grown by two members as of December 2021. The IT Department provides in-house deployment, support, and troubleshooting of all computer equipment, peripherals, hardware, and software. IT, also covers all networking and security components, A/V, and mobile device management. Working with website content, public records requests, and direct contact with vendors for procurement also fall under IT’s responsibilities. IT is also responsible for the internal IT Department Budget which includes all hardware equipment, software subscriptions and renewals, internet and voice services, and all other departmental IT expenses.
The IT Department's mission is to provide excellent customer service and support to empower city employees to do their best every day. IT strives to efficiently move the City towards a sound technological future by collaborating experienced skills and creativity with new ideas, and innovations.
