[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: MAN LOCATED AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

Just after this release, DeFuniak Springs Police received a call from WCSO advising Lassen had been located at a local hospital.


ORIGINAL: DeFuniak Springs Police are searching for a 65 year old man who has not returned home and is believed to be suffering from a form of dementia. Mark A. Lassen was last seen in the early morning hours on June 27th at the Waffle House in Miramar Beach. Employees of the Waffle House reported that Lassen, who is known to frequent the restaurant, had left abruptly without paying his tab. They believed that something maybe wrong and contacted the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO). WCSO requested Police to check his residence. Officers were unable to locate Lassen, but contacted a family member. Family members were unaware of his whereabouts and requested a search due to Lassen suffering from dementia and/or other mental disorders. Lassen was last seen driving his 2000 White Chrysler Town and Country van with Tennessee Tag # M0806P. Lassen is described as a 6’5”, 300 lb., White Male. He is described by a family member as looking like “Santa Claus” because of his white hair and white beard.
