A report of possible drug activity turned into multiple crimes being committed in the Lowes parking lot in DeFuniak Springs. Officers with the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a call that occupants of an older model Cadillac were possibly selling drugs at approximately 8 PM Tuesday evening. The tag on the vehicle was found to be reported stolen out of Walton County. As Officers approached, the driver of the vehicle began to drive off and a traffic stop was conducted. 41 year old Ronnie Lane Pace, of Freeport, was found to be driving. Pace advised that his driver’s license was suspended and he was subsequently arrested. During a search of his person, multiple denominations of currency consistent with distribution of narcotics were located. A search of the vehicle revealed two pistols, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, pills, marijuana, baggies, and scales. A female passenger, 27 year old Jasmine Marie Swack, also of Freeport, was questioned about the items and denied knowing anything about selling or possessing drugs. One of the pistols had been reported stolen out of DeFuniak Springs. The items were not claimed by either suspect. Both Pace and Swack were arrested and booked into the Walton County Jail on various charges ranging from Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Distribute, Grand Theft, Theft, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Both subjects were still in Jail on bonds of $25,000 each.
