[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested for False Imprisonment

At approximately 6:10 this morning, the Defuniak Springs Police communications division received a 911 call advising that the caller witnessed a white female running from a residence (428 U.S. Highway 90 W.) located across the street from the Exxon Station yelling for help. The caller then observed a white male chasing the female and after catching up with her he grabbed her from behind and forced her back into the apartment as she continued yelling for help and resisting his attempt to force her back into the apartment. When officers arrived they heard a male subject yelling profanities at someone inside the apartment. Officers attempted contact with the subject but he failed to acknowledge their presence or obey their commands to open the door. A second attempt was made to make contact with the male subject with the use of a bullhorn. Again, the subject failed to acknowledge the police. As officers were making preparations to make entry into the apartment, Jonathan Irvan walked out of the front door and was arrested without incident. Irvan was charged with Domestic Battery and False Imprisonment. The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.
