A memorial service marking the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorists’ attacks was held Sunday in DeFuniak Springs round Lake DeFuniak. Chief Mark Weeks joined other first responders, local officials, and many others who gathered to remember those who lost their lives in the attacks. The ceremony concluded with a two lap walk around the Lake to honor the memory of 2,966 lives lost when the two towers fell. “It’s been fifteen years, but seems like it was yesterday that this terrible act of terrorism happened. We must always remember so that we can keep this from happening again,” said Chief Weeks.
