[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC STOP FOR ONE HEADLIGHT RESULTS IN ARREST

A traffic stop for one headlight led to the arrest of 22 year old David Gene Lewis of DeFuniak Springs on Monday. Lewis was driving a pickup truck on S. 17th Street in the early morning hours when an Officer noticed the vehicle had only one head light. Once stopped, the driver was identified and Lewis admitted to not having a valid license. A search of Lewis revealed two small baggies of Methamphetamine, one of which had “Batman” symbols on it. A subsequent search near where Lewis was sitting in the vehicle revealed 45 grams of Marijuana along with items of paraphernalia. Lewis was booked into the Walton County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of More than 20 grams of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. “I am appreciative of our Officers efforts for being proactive and keeping dangerous drugs out of our community,” said Chief Mark Weeks.
