[ARCHIVED] WATER MAIN TAMPERING INCIDENT CAUSES CONCERN

DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a City of DeFuniak Springs water main that was tampered with recently. The incident was discovered when officials noticed a well had little to no water flowing through it. An investigation found that the main water valve had been shut-off near S. 11th Street. The City of DeFuniak Springs takes incidents of this nature seriously and reports all incidents to the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Environmental Protection. Anyone with information on tampering with water fixtures or the water supply is asked to call DeFuniak Springs Police at 850-892-8513.
