On April 6th 2011 the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a traffic crash on Baldwin Avenue where a vehicle had driven into a local business.
Thelma Greene of Defuniak Springs, was pulling her 2004 Mercury into a parking space and crashed into Merrifield & Pilcher Realty.
Greene stated that she attempted to apply the brake, but accidentally pressed the gas pedal causing the vehicle to travel forward into the building. No injuries were reported on scene.
The damage to the building is estimated at 15,000 dollars and approximately 5,000 dollars to the vehicle.
