[ARCHIVED] MAN WITH GUN CARJACKS GAS STATION ATTENDANT

A 20 year old man is behind bars after carjacking a gas station attendant with a handgun.  DeFuniak Springs Police responded to Murphy Oil around 5 a.m. this morning in reference to a vehicle theft.  Officers arrived and discovered that the female victim had been forced to give up her keys after the suspect put a gun to her head.  A description of the suspect and vehicle was put out to area agencies to be on the lookout.  A Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the vehicle near the 68 mile marker on I-10 west and a felony traffic stop was conducted.   The suspect, Alfred Woodrow Vaughan of unknown address, was taken into custody.  Although the victim was understandably upset, no injuries were reported.  DeFuniak Springs Police have charged Vaughan with Armed Carjacking with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and Grand Theft Auto.  He was transported to the Walton County Jail and is currently awaiting First Appearance. #CARJACKING #ROBBERY #GUN
