[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC CRASH STALLS TRAFFIC ON US HIGHWAY 331 SOUTH

Officers responded to U.S. Highway 331 South and Bruce Avenue on Monday afternoon in reference to a traffic crash with injuries.  Mary Connell, of DeFuniak Springs, turned left from U.S. Highway 331 S. in front of a blue Dodge minivan driven by Corey Burba, of Hermitage, TN, who was traveling north.  Witnesses stated that the impact was with such force that Connell’s car turned up on its side briefly.  DeFuniak Springs Fire Department and Walton Fire Rescue also responded.  Connell sustained minor injuries and was privately transported to a hospital.  None of the occupants of the minivan were injured.  The roadway was obstructed for about  30 minutes before the car could be towed away.  The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
