[ARCHIVED] SUSPECT WITH DRUGS AND GUNS ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

On Friday, May 12th at approximately 5:30 p.m., DeFuniak Springs Police were given a tip that a passenger inside a vehicle had a warrant.  Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on U.S. Highway 90 East near 2nd Street.  While approaching the vehicle, Officers smelled an odor of Marijuana coming from inside.  The described wanted suspect was also observed sitting in the front passenger’s seat.  A records check revealed that Justin Bradley McDougald was wanted for a probation violation.  A search of the vehicle revealed a .40 caliber and .45 caliber semi-automatic handguns, ammunition, and a small quantity of Marijuana.  McDougald was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of Firearms by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.  He is currently being held in the Walton County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
