Posted on: June 20, 2017[ARCHIVED] City of DeFuniak Springs Reinstates Police Officer and Sergeant following Arbitration
The City of DeFuniak Springs reinstated two employees of the DeFuniak Springs Police Department on June 19, 2017 after their termination in 2015 for violating city policy. The reinstatement, along with a 5-day suspension for both employees, is due to the award of the American Arbitration Association, a labor arbitration company mutually accepted by the City and the Florida Police Benevolent Association, Inc. representing the employees.
The City remains committed to providing a work environment that is free from harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
