[ARCHIVED] “HIS KIDS DAY CARE” VISITS THE DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE

On April 26th, 2011 members of the DeFuniak Springs Police welcomed the “His Kids Day Care” to their office on a prearranged field trip.

The educators (staff) and the children of ages ranging from five to twelve arrived at City Marshal’s Office (DeFuniak Springs Police) at 10:00 AM. The children and staff were escorted into the conference room by officers for a short safety briefing prior to the tour of the facility.

With group participation several questions were asked and answered about the different duties that each member of the agency was required to perform proficiently. The group was also educated on the different types of equipment issued to an officer to assist them in performing their daily duties.

The tour of the facility ended back in the conference room where members of the DeFuniak Springs Police provided the group with gifts and snacks that they prepared.

The group then took to the outside where they were able to enter an in service patrol unit. They were able to physical touch what they thought were unique gadgets including the activation of the siren, which proved to be amazing to most.

The visit ended with the group saying their goodbyes and the staff expressing their appreciation to the members of the DeFuniak Springs Police for hosting this educating experience and thanking them for all they do.
