[ARCHIVED] Patron Stabbed at DeFuniak Springs Bar

DeFuniak Springs Police Officers responded to a stabbing that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 8th, 2011. James Allan Adams, 43, of DeFuniak Springs, reportedly stabbed a 28 year old man, also of DeFuniak Springs, at approximately 1:20 AM.

The incident occurred during an argument that occurred inside Bootlegger's, a local bar and liquor store. The victim was stabbed in his midsection and arm causing severe injuries. The injuries were considered to be life threatening and he was airlifted to Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center. He was treated for his injuries and was later released.

Officers were able to identify and apprehend Adams a short time after the incident. He was transported to the Walton County Department of Corrections and charged with Aggravated Battery causing Great Bodily Harm. Adams is currently be held on a $50,000 bond. The case is still under investigation.
