[ARCHIVED] National Pill Take-Back Event

NATIONAL PILL TAKE-BACK EVENT

The Defuniak Springs Police have joined with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in an upcoming National Pill Take-Back Event. This program has been designed to allow anyone anonymously to properly dispose of prescription medications that are in a pill bottle. Anonymous means just that no inquiries or charges will be made against any person(s) voluntarily doing so.

The DeFuniak Springs Police is participating in this event, because of our commitment to our community in saving our environment from the potential effects that these drugs can have on animals and our drinking water, when they are thrown away and sent to the landfill and not properly dispose of.
September 25, 2010, from 10AM to 2PM, there will be collection boxes available for disposal of the said items at the DeFuniak Springs Community Center located on Highway 83 also known as North 9th Street.

Please Read The Following: Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e.
tablets and capsules accepted. Intra-venous solutions, injectables, and needles will not be
accepted. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a
part of this initiative
