[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE MAKES AN ARREST AFTER A LENGTHY INVESTIGATION

On August 3rd, 2011 the DeFuniak Springs Police Criminal Investigations Division (CID) arrested two suspects for Exploitation of the Elderly, Grand Theft, and Schemes to Defraud.

After a lengthy investigation, members from DeFuniak Springs Police CID arrested Anthony Fullerton, 49 years of age, and 38 year old Rebecca Roxanne Monroe, both of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Fullerton and Monroe were both co-habitants of the elderly victim and were supposed to be in the capacity of providing care on a daily basis. It was revealed that they had defrauded the victim of approximately $16,000 over the course of several months.

Both suspects were booked into the Walton County Department of Corrections for Exploitation of the Elderly, Grand Theft, and Schemes to Defraud.

“The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are likely to follow”, said investigators.
