August 25th, 2011 members from the DeFuniak Springs Police met with several citizens from the Magnolia Lake Community. The meeting took place at the Community Center in DeFuniak Springs.
The purpose of this meeting was to finalize the paper work needed to officially implement the Neighborhood Watch Program. Also discussed were the responsibilities of the participating members of the Program.
This project began several months ago, when it was revealed that citizens in the Magnolia Lake Community showed interest in making a difference where they lived.
The DeFuniak Springs Police is very excited about being a big part of this first time ever Neighbor Hood Watch Program here in this Great City of DeFuniak Springs. This is just one of the many new programs that this agency has helped develop over the last few years. DeFuniak Springs Police continues to strive to prove their motto, “In Partnership with our Community”
Lieutenant Tilman Mears is the DeFuniak Springs Police Liaison for these types of programs, and he encourages the other communities to contact him if they are interested in establishing a Watch Program in their area.
