[ARCHIVED] WEST DEFUNIAK ELEMENTARY VISITS DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE

On October 21st, 2011 members of the DeFuniak Springs Police welcomed the West DeFuniak Springs Elementary School children and Educators to their office for a prearranged field trip.
The educators (staff) and children arrived at City Marshal’s Office (DeFuniak Springs Police) and were escorted into the conference room by officers for a short safety briefing prior to the tour of the facility.

The group was also educated on the different types of equipment issued to an officer to assist them in performing their daily duties.

The group then took to the outside where they were able to enter an in service patrol unit. They were able to physical touch what they thought were unique gadgets including the activation of the siren, which seemed to thrill most.

The visit ended with the group saying their goodbyes and DeFuniak Springs Police providing them all educational handouts.
