[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING

On January 7th, 2012, at approximately 9:07 PM, DeFuniak Springs Police responded to gunshots at Oakdale Apartments located at 226 North 1st Street.

When police arrived at the apartment complex an undisclosed bystander told police that an individual known as Montie Holmes had been shot and was on his way to Healthmark Regional Medical Center Hospital.

Police responded to the local hospital to find Holmes seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound to the leg. Reports indicated that the gunshot wound was non-life threatening.

No further information is being released at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing. Updates will follow upon further investigation.
