On January 7th, 2012, at approximately 9:07 PM, DeFuniak Springs Police responded to gunshots at Oakdale Apartments located at 226 North 1st Street.
When police arrived at the apartment complex an undisclosed bystander told police that an individual known as Montie Holmes had been shot and was on his way to Healthmark Regional Medical Center Hospital.
Police responded to the local hospital to find Holmes seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound to the leg. Holmes was treated and released.
During the investigation police found Jerome Cochran to be a victim as well. The suspected shooter had also fired shots at Cochran but missed.
This afternoon, January 9, 2012, arrest warrants have been issued for the suspected shooter, Anthony Corderra Peacock. The investigation is still ongoing and Peacock is still at large and is consider armed and dangerous. Investigators are following up on all leads in search of Peacock’s whereabouts.
