[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE IS INVESTIGATING A STRONG ARM ROBBERY

On April 25th, 2012 in the early morning hour’s members from the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to the Chautauqua Nursing Home located on 785 South 2nd Street in reference to “Strong Arm Robbery”.

At the time of this release the investigating officers reported that the undisclosed victim got out of her vehicle to enter the establishment, and when doing so she was approached by a black male unknown to her. The male subject then demanded that she handover her purse.

After a brief struggle the suspect was able to obtain the purse, at which time he fled on foot into the nearby woodland. Fortunately the victim wasn’t seriously hurt. Some of the items were recovered and has been returned to the victim.

Undisclosed evidence was collected for laboratory testing. Updates will follow as investigation continues.
