[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A HIT AND RUN CRASH

On July 30th, 2012 at approximately 9:20 a.m. members from the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to the area of Live Oak Avenue and 11th Street in reference to a “Hit and Run Crash”.

Witnesses reported that a Green Toyota Camry, operated by an older white female turned from Live Oak Avenue on to 11th, Street and traveled south. During this course of travel the Camry struck a motorized scooter causing it to overturn. The driver of the Camry failed to stop.

Further investigation proved that the Scooter was being operated adjacent to the curb by a 35 year old undisclosed victim. Also on the scooter was the victim’s daughter who is 7 years of age.

The undisclosed victim and his daughter were both transported to North Okaloosa County Medical Facility for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and members from the DeFuniak Springs Police are asking anyone that might have any information to contact them immediately.
