As most of you know the July 4th, Celebration had to be rescheduled, because of the inclement weather that our area was undergoing. DeFuniak Springs Police is releasing this Public Service Announcement (PSA) on the behalf the DeFuniak Springs Business Professional Association (DBPA) to remind our citizens and visitors of the rescheduled upcoming event.
DBPA spoke person said, “This is the first time since 1990 we have been rained out! I guess we were overdue”. It has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2013. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the middle school and will proceed around Lake DeFuniak. The opening ceremonies will begin at 6: 00 p.m. with entertainment and fireworks to follow after dark.
This celebration will be taking place during the Labor Day weekend, and DeFuniak Springs Police would like to wish everyone in advance a happy and safe Labor Day.
