First Christian Academy came up with a way to show appreciation to local responders for First Responder Week. Principal Lisa Tucker invited Chief Mark Weeks to visit with students at the academy in DeFuniak Springs. Students made cards of appreciation and presented them to Chief Weeks who received them on behalf of the DeFuniak Springs Police Department. Chief Weeks said “I am honored that law enforcement is being appreciated by future leaders in our schools. I am glad that kids can respect what we do and see that it is a team effort, with relationships beginning at an early age.”
