[ARCHIVED] CHIEF WEEKS RECOGNIZES COUPLE WHO SAVED BABY

A shopping trip turned into a heroic rescue for a Chipley couple. Tyler and Amanda Brannon did not think twice before springing into action to help save a six month old that was left in a hot car with the windows rolled up. It’s been just over a month, but Tyler Brannon, a Chipley Police Officer, was off duty when he and his wife noticed the crying baby in a van in the parking lot of Tractor Supply on July 11th. Quick thinking on the part of the Brannon’s helped save this baby’s life.

Chief Mark Weeks traveled to Chipley recently to give Tyler and Amanda a Life Saving Award for their quick thinking and actions. Chief Weeks was joined by Chief Kevin Crews of the Chipley Police Department in recognizing and presenting awards to the Brannons at the August 11th Chipley City Council Meeting. The difference Tyler and Amanda made in protecting the life of this baby is just indescribable. It is people like the Brannon’s that make our area a great place to live and work, said Chief Weeks.
