One of the things I love about Dothan, AL is the beautiful murals on the older buildings downtown. Each mural tells a story of the history and culture in the area. DeFuniak Springs is very rich in history and this should be displayed with art murals on the buildings downtown. Business owners would love nothing more than to spruce up buildings, but find themselves strapped for extras. I think murals would bring tourism to the area. It would be wonderful to ask the Walton County art league, local artist Art teachers from Walton, Paxton, Freeport, & South Walton to participate (volunteer) to paint murals. Just think of a mural on Thiftway grocery, Evan's carpet city, Bass barber shop .Think of the community outpour to initiate this. Please consider this idea, I lived in Dothan for 12 yrs and have seen the revitalization of the downtown area.. It can happen here.
